So, the estimates for the laser repair is $10k, including service visit fee and parts. They think it is a power supply failure inside of the controller. Considering the original price of the laser (~150k) and the cost of annual service contract fee (~10k per year; which I did not subscribe to), it is not bad, but it is hard to come up with 10k in this financial climate.
